My name is Jeanne Morais. I am really looking forward to the year ahead as a third grade teacher at DECS. This will be my seventh year teaching third grade, and I love the challenge of teaching more responsibility to students at this grade level. I received my credential from California State University, Chico in 1994. My teaching experiences over the years since then have taken me from the San Francisco Bay Area to Costa Rica to the Sacramento Delta Region. Most recently, I held the position of English Language Development Specialist at a local school where I worked with students in grades K-6.
My two children are graduates of DECS. My daughter will be a sophomore in high school this year, and my son will be a junior. My hobbies include gardening, cooking, traveling to new places, and any activities on the water including swimming, boating and stand up paddle boarding,
I look at life-and my job as a teacher-as a never-ending opportunity to learn. I hope to instill this outlook in each of my students as well. My goal is to create a classroom environment where students are encouraged to question, explore, and share in the learning process.
I look forward to meeting you and your third grader!
