Hello! My name is Andrea Flores and I’m so excited to be apart of the DECS team! I am beginning my 8th year of teaching and couldn’t be more thrilled to be apart of such a wonderful school and community.
I grew up in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and moved to California after I graduated from high school. I received my Bachelor’s of Arts in Psychology at the University of California, San Diego and my Multiple Subject Teaching Credential at California State University of Sacramento. After teaching for a few years, I received my Masters in Curriculum and Instruction with an emphasis in Elementary Reading at Grand Canyon University.
When I’m not teaching, I enjoy spending time with my husband, our 2 children, and our 2 dogs. My oldest child is entering 1st grade at DECS and my youngest is learning to walk! I love running, crossfit, hiking, reading, decorating our new house, watching sporting events (S.F. Giants and Steelers) and playing board games. I also love creating and researching fun, differentiated project based learning activities and finding new ways to incorporate technology into my classroom. I’m excited to be apart of the DECS team, and am looking forward to a fun and rewarding year!
